By mid-March the Chinese parliament passed a new investment law which for the first time grants the same rights to foreign investors and to domestic investors. Besides opening the Chinese market, the new law guarantees better IP protection and sets an end to the illegal transfer of know-how to Chinese parties. While Chinese Prime Minister LI Keqiang emphasized that China would strictly obey the new rule some foreign observers doubt the proper implementation in practice.

Dr. Bernd-Uwe Stucken, Lawyer at Pinsent Masons, will provide an overview of the history as well as the content of the new foreign investment law.

Furthermore, he will deliver insights into the areas still forbidden to foreign investors and how the European Union should deal with the new law. The Chinaforum Breakfast Club will take place on Monday, April 29th, from 8.00-9.00am at the Kaufmanns-Casino, Odeonsplatz 6, 80539 Munich (and on Tuesday, April 30th, from 8.30-9.30am at the IHK Nuremberg, Ulmenstr. 52, 90443 Nuremberg). After the talk you can enjoy a joint breakfast with the speaker as well as other guests and extend your local China network.

Participation fee is 30€ for members, 40€ for non-members. Please register before April 25th on website:
